Overview

The North Plainfield School District, a culturally diverse PreK through Grade 12 district in Somerset County serving approximately 3,600 students, is seeking a Bilingual Middle School Mathematics Teacher to deliver high-quality, engaging mathematics instruction that promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, and academic achievement. The Middle School Mathematics Teacher creates a positive, inclusive, and academically challenging learning environment where students develop mathematical confidence, strengthen foundational skills, and apply their learning to real-world situations.

Qualifications

• Valid New Jersey instructional certification appropriate for middle school mathematics, or eligibility for certification
• Strong knowledge of mathematics content, curriculum, instruction, and assessment
• Demonstrated ability to deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction
• Experience differentiating instruction to meet diverse student needs
• Ability to use student achievement data to inform instructional decisions
• Commitment to creating a positive, inclusive, and culturally responsive classroom
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish required

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned mathematics instruction with clear learning objectives
• Design rigorous learning experiences that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and real-world application
• Differentiate instruction through whole-group, small-group, intervention, and enrichment opportunities
• Use assessment data to monitor student growth and adjust instruction to improve outcomes
• Establish clear classroom routines and high academic and behavioral expectations
• Integrate instructional technology and digital resources to enhance student learning
• Implement student IEPs, Section 504 Plans, and other required instructional supports
• Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and families to support student achievement
• Participate in professional learning communities, department meetings, and ongoing professional development
• Maintain active student supervision and a safe, respectful learning environment
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Supervisor

Terms of Employment

Ten-month position. Salary in accordance with the negotiated agreement.

Salary

69,630 -103,470, commensurate with education and experience, in accordance with the negotiated agreement between the North Plainfield Board of Education and the North Plainfield Education Association.
