Technatomy is seeking an Azure Integration Engineer to build approved API and messaging integrations for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) pharmacy traceability project. You develop data exchanges, transformations, and recovery mechanisms between application platforms and existing enterprise integration services. Working with architects and operations teams, you track messages, investigate failures, and ensure transactions can be recovered.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop approved Azure API Management policies, Functions adapters, and Service Bus command and event paths connecting SAP, DIP, and selected Dynamics workflows.
• Implement payload validation, transformations, routing, correlation identifiers, and transaction status handling.
• Configure Service Bus PeekLock, stable message IDs, dead-letter handling, and controlled replay, settling messages only after durable consumer processing.
• Configure Key Vault, supported managed identities, certificate rotation, and separate production and nonproduction settings; validate DNS, private endpoints, and approved outbound connectivity.
• Implement correlated logging and reconciliation across APIs, queues, adapters, and SAP responses so support teams can distinguish accepted messages from completed business transactions.
• Support contract, integration, recovery, and performance testing with representative messages; verify API policy and adapter changes remain compatible with existing consumers.
• Maintain deployment configuration, interface documentation, and operational runbooks for support teams.
• Validate service configuration, connection limits, credential rotation, and failed-message handling with platform owners, and retain deployment and recovery instructions for operations.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
• At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in API development, messaging integration, or cloud application development.
• Hands-on experience building and supporting production integrations using Azure API Management, Service Bus, and Azure Functions, including secure connectivity to enterprise applications.
• Working knowledge of REST APIs, structured message formats, data transformation, and service authentication.
• Experience implementing reliable asynchronous processing, including retries, failed-message handling, and duplicate protection.
• Ability to troubleshoot integration failures using logs, message metadata, and business transaction identifiers.
• Experience with scripting or programming, source control, automated deployment, and integration testing.
• Ability to diagnose integration failures across authentication, API policies, messaging, payload transformation, and downstream service behavior using reproducible evidence.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS DESIRED:
• Experience integrating SAP, Dynamics 365, or pharmaceutical traceability systems.
• Experience with Azure Monitor, Blob Storage evidence retention, and governed Azure environments with restricted network and identity boundaries.
• Prior experience supporting Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) or other Federal agency applications or projects.
EDUCATION:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
CLEARANCE:
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
WORK LOCATION:
• Remote
As part of the application process, you are expected to be on camera during interviews and assessments. We reserve the right to take your picture to verify your identity and prevent fraud.
