Description

As a Support Specialist with Bloomberg On-Site Support (BOS) in Toronto, you will provide high-touch technology support for Bloomberg colleagues and business groups based at our 161 Bay Street office, while also supporting Bloomberg clients throughout Toronto and the surrounding area. This is a client-facing, multi-discipline role for someone who combines strong technical fundamentals with exceptional customer service, business awareness, teamwork, and personal ownership. You will work as part of the Toronto BOS team supporting office technology, Bloomberg technology, implementations, connectivity, Order Management activity, and client onsite support. The role also provides exposure to Bloomberg's network and infrastructure environment, including smart-hands support in IDF and colo locations while partnering with network engineers supporting client connectivity across Canada. Some scheduled colo or infrastructure work may require occasional later shifts or adjusted hours. We are not looking for a network engineer. We are looking for someone with solid IT fundamentals, an interest in networking, and the ability to troubleshoot methodically and work effectively with remote engineering teams. Above all, the strongest candidate will be a team player with exceptional customer skills who understands that great BOS support is about the customer and the business, not simply the technology.

The Role

We are targeting someone with approximately 2 to 5 years of relevant experience who has developed a strong IT and customer-service foundation and is ready to broaden their experience.

The ideal candidate is technically capable, collaborative, curious, and comfortable moving between office support, client support, Bloomberg technology, and basic infrastructure responsibilities.

We'll trust you to:
  • Deliver high-touch technical support to Bloomberg clients and colleagues.
  • Work collaboratively with the Toronto BOS team and partner groups across Bloomberg.
  • Provide onsite support to clients throughout Toronto and the surrounding area.
  • Take ownership of issues through resolution.
  • Troubleshoot workplace technology, applications, hardware, peripherals, and connectivity.
  • Support Bloomberg installations, upgrades, implementations, and Order Management activity.
  • Apply working knowledge of LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, Wi-Fi, and VPN.
  • Provide basic smart-hands support in IDF and colo environments.
  • Assist remote network and infrastructure engineers with onsite troubleshooting, cabling, equipment checks, and connectivity validation.
  • Know when to troubleshoot independently and when to engage the appropriate technical resource.
  • Communicate clearly and deliver a consistent white-glove customer experience.
  • Maintain flexibility for occasional later shifts when scheduled infrastructure work requires it.

You'll need to have:
  • Approximately two to five years of IT Support, Desktop Support, Field Support, Endpoint Support, or related experience.
  • Strong customer-service and communication skills.
  • A collaborative, team-first approach.
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical-thinking skills.
  • Experience supporting Windows and modern workplace technology.
  • Working knowledge of Mac and mobile environments.
  • Familiarity with networking fundamentals.
  • Basic exposure to network equipment, cabling, switches, routers, IDF rooms, or similar environments.
  • Strong ownership, accountability, and follow-through.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Confidence engaging with clients, colleagues, engineers, and business leaders.

We'd love to see:
  • White-glove, executive, or highly client-facing support experience.
  • Broad onsite or field-support experience.
  • Exposure to IDF, MDF, data center, colo, or network environments.
  • Smart-hands experience supporting remote engineers.
  • Familiarity with cabling, patching, network troubleshooting, or hardware validation.
  • Exposure to Intune, Jamf, or endpoint-management tools.
  • ITIL, CompTIA, Microsoft, Apple, or entry-level Cisco certifications.
