Bus Driver

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be 21 years of age or older

Training/License

• Must be insurable to drive district vehicles
• Hold a current CD License
• Ability to work with students, administration and community
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Good public relations skills
• Ability to pass a drug/alcohol test

• Obey all traffic laws.
• Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
• Maintain discipline when students are on bus.
• Reports undisciplined students to proper authority.
• Keeps assigned bus clean.
• Adheres to the assigned schedule.
• Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects.
• Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
• Discharges students only at authorized stops.
• Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips.
• Transports only authorized students.
• Reports all accidents and complete required reports in timely manner.
• Enforces regulations against smoking and eating on the bus.
• Ability to communicate and work with co-workers and administration in congenial manner.
• Must maintain proper district attire.
• Work well under pressure.
• Positive attitude toward district policy.
• Daily attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job.
• Perform other duties as may be assigned.
