| JOB SUMMARY |
Assess; treat; and care for patients with breathing disorders. Assume primary responsibility for all respiratory care modalities; including the supervision of respiratory therapy students and new graduates. Initiate and conduct therapeutic procedures; maintain patient records; and select; assemble; check; and operate equipment.

Minimum Education
- Graduate of Registry Level Respiratory Care Program
- Registered Respiratory Therapist Credential NBRC
Minimum Work Experience
- No previous experience
Required Licenses/Certifications
- State of Texas licensure in Respiratory Care
- Annual renewal of National Board for Respiratory Care active status for therapists subject to the Continuing Competency Program (CCP)
- Graduate Therapists must obtain CRT credentials and then test for RRT credential and NBRC Credential active status within 1 year of graduation. If RRT Credential is not obtained; will be placed into Respiratory Care Practitioner job position until RRT credential is obtained.
- BLS - should not initiate patient contact until completed
- ACLS - completed within six (6) months
- ENPC or PALS - completed within one (1) year
- NRP - completed within one (1) year
Required Skills; Knowledge; and Abilities
- Input data into computer programs.
- Maintain work area according to OSHA and NIOSH standards.
