Electrical Engineer
Description
About the Role
Join a small engineering team developing advanced sensing systems for public safety. You will own hands-on mixed-signal board bring-up, debugging, and integration, working across hardware, FPGA, firmware, AI, and mechanical engineering.
What You'll Do
Lead board-level bring-up, power sequencing validation, and subsystem integration across multiple board designs.
Investigate signal integrity, power, and RF performance issues, identify root causes, and drive design iterations.
Coordinate schematic updates and layout reviews with an external design partner, from fabrication through characterization and validation.
Collaborate with FPGA, firmware, and systems engineers to validate subsystem and system-level integration.
Develop traceability and test procedures to support increased production volume.
What We're Looking For
Three to seven years of experience in mixed-signal hardware bring-up, debug, and board-level integration.
Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
Experience owning board design end to end, including schematic capture and layout in Altium, controlled-impedance routing, and power protection circuits.
Hands-on experience with complex PCBAs, power sequencing, signal integrity, and mixed-signal design, including ADCs, DACs, DC/DC converters, and RF interfaces.
Ability to work independently, identify problems, and contribute across disciplines.
Background in telecom, radar, or complex sensing systems is beneficial, as is FPGA bring-up experience with tools such as PetaLinux or AMD Kria SOM.
Familiarity with Python, high-speed digital design, power distribution, and lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and logic analyzers is useful.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary is $160,000 to $180,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Location
On-site, five days per week in Santa Clara, California, United States.
