What we offer:

Group Summary:

Pay Rate: $35CAD/hour

Responsibilities:

· Assembles and installs new equipment and machines.

· Is able to make modifications to existing equipment as requested.

· Develop, maintain and perform preventive maintenance procedures on electrical equipment as laid out by the manufacturer’s specifications.

· Responsible to train maintenance and production personnel (as applicable).

· Responsible to develop and implement process procedures.

· Troubles shoot electrical and electronic equipment in need of repair and for overall system continuous improvement (optimization).

· Coordinate activities of apprentices, helpers and assigned contractors (as applicable).

· Assists in determining and setting up spare part requirements

· Provide technical support to problem solving activities such as 8D investigations.

· Maintains safety standards of equipment and work area.

· Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Supervisor and / or other members of senior management.

· Ensure adherence to established quality and housekeeping standards.

· Taking appropriate corrective action when substandard performance is observed.

Health and Safety Responsibilities:

· Ensure all safety and non-safety plant rules and policies set out by Magna and the division are followed.

· Respond immediately to items brought to his/her attention with respect to hazards, defects or non-compliance issues.

· Review and adhere to Mississauga Seating Systems’ Health and Safety, Environmental, and Quality Standards, operating procedures, policies and forms.

· Comply with legislative requirements of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Workplace Safety & Insurance Act, including the Duties of a Supervisor and Duties of the Employer as outlined in the Occupational Health & Safety Act, s. 27 and 28 and all other applicable legal requirements.

Qualifications:

· 3 years prior industry experience, preferably in the areas of automotive, high volume assembly and sequencing; fixture design; torque monitoring / control; and material handling systems.

· Experienced in all aspects of industrial electrical maintenance and preventive maintenance practices.· Industrial trade certificate or equivalent required.

· Team approach to problem solving.

· Good communication and interpersonal skills.

· Proven project and time management ability.

· Computer literate, including Microsoft Word / Excel.

· Exposure to QS-9000 and Lean Manufacturing production environments.

· Comfortable working in a unionized environment
