Technatomy is seeking an Enterprise Solution Architect to define application, integration, data, and security architecture for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) pharmacy traceability project. You establish system responsibilities and guide decisions about reuse and extensions. You balance business needs and operational reliability with platform boundaries, the customer’s approved architecture, and delivery scope.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Define the end-to-end solution architecture and document ownership of traceability data, business transactions, and supporting services.
• Assess existing SAP capabilities, Azure services, and Dynamics 365 SCM environments; define supported integration paths, reuse opportunities, and required extensions.
• Guide application, API, identity, data, and deployment designs across technical workstreams.
• Evaluate proposed platform additions for security, licensing, delivery effort, operational support, and architectural impact.
• Lead architecture reviews and maintain system context, data-flow, interface, and deployment views; record design rationale, dependencies, and decisions against approved functional and operational requirements.
• Guide reliability, recovery, performance, and access-control designs with specialist engineers and customer architecture owners.
• Resolve design conflicts with customer architecture owners, assess cross-system change impacts, and support technical readiness reviews, acceptance evidence, and transition to service operations.
• Define cross-system failure and recovery behavior, including pending transactions, delayed events, and reconciliation, and ensure each interface has a clear support owner.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
• At least 10 years of relevant professional experience in IT solution delivery, including enterprise solution design or architecture.
• Experience leading architecture for enterprise solutions that combine business applications, integration, identity, and data services.
• Ability to define systems of record, transaction ownership, interface contracts, and operational responsibilities.
• Experience evaluating platform reuse, custom development, and technology tradeoffs against business and delivery constraints.
• Working knowledge of secure application integration, reliability, recovery, and environment separation.
• Ability to communicate architecture decisions to technical teams, customer reviewers, and program leadership.
• Ability to evaluate asynchronous transaction designs, distinguish authoritative records from reporting or workflow copies, and explain the consequences of design choices.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS DESIRED:
• Experience with SAP ATTP, Traceability Hub, EPCIS event exchange, or pharmaceutical traceability architectures.
• Experience with enterprise architecture reviews, security authorization, and shared integration services.
• Demonstrated experience architecting integrations between enterprise business applications and Microsoft Azure, with working knowledge of Dynamics 365 SCM integration patterns and transaction boundaries.
• Prior experience supporting Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) or other Federal agency applications or projects.
EDUCATION:
