Job summary
Government Skills is undertaking an exciting period of expansion and transformation. In January 2026 the government announced plans to establish the National School of Government and Public Services to support our ambitions for a world-class, professional Civil Service.
The new school will align training with government priorities, introduce a new streamlined curriculum that is designed and delivered in-house, and invest in public sector leadership.
College for National Security
The College for National Security provides learning across the Civil Service and wider public sector about the threats faced by the UK and the actions needed to counter them. To respond, we need a workforce that is knowledgeable, experienced and connected.
The college is part of Government Skills and is closely tied to the National Security Secretariat. Its aim is to build responsiveness and effectiveness in the National Security practitioner community and to support other professions to learn more about national security.
