Financial Risk & Compliance Senior Professional - Gdansk
Description
Are you looking to build on your experience in external audit or internal controls in a fast-paced international environment? Would you like to move from providing assurance to working more closely with the business, using your analytical skills to help protect company assets and strengthen the reliability of financial reporting? If so, this could be your opportunity to join Risk and Compliance, part of Arla Corporate Finance, as a Financial Risk & Compliance Senior Professional in our Gdańsk office.
ROLE FOCUS THIS IS NOT a financial crime compliance role focused on KYC, AML, sanctions or customer due diligence. The role supports financial risk mitigation, fraud prevention, internal controls and reliable financial reporting in a global production and consumer goods company.
How you will make an impact
As Financial Risk & Compliance Senior Professional, you will support the delivery of established risk and compliance activities across Arla’s global operations. Working with experienced colleagues and business stakeholders, you will perform control monitoring and analysis, contribute to risk assessments, participate in compliance reviews and follow up on agreed remediation actions. Your work will help protect company assets, reduce the risk of fraud and error, and support complete, accurate and reliable financial reporting.
Specifically, you will
- support risk assessments and risk-and-control mapping across selected processes, functions and countries, with focus on fraud and financial reporting risks
- perform control monitoring and testing activities using established methodologies, including reviewing documentation, analysing evidence and identifying exceptions
- participate in risk-based compliance reviews by preparing analyses, supporting walkthroughs and stakeholder interviews, documenting observations and contributing to conclusions and recommendations
- analyse transactions and control data to identify trends, anomalies, red flags and opportunities to strengthen preventive and detective controls
- monitor the implementation of agreed corrective actions and follow up with control owners on progress, evidence and timely completion
- prepare clear reporting on control performance, identified deficiencies and remediation status for Risk and Compliance colleagues and business stakeholders
- contribute to continuous improvement of risk and control tools, transaction monitoring, data analytics and other digital solutions
What will make you successful
You have a strong foundation in audit, accounting or internal controls and are motivated to develop your expertise in financial risk and compliance within a global business. You work in a structured and analytical way, exercise sound judgement in familiar situations and know when to seek guidance on more complex matters. You are comfortable working with data, documentation and stakeholders across different functions and countries. You communicate findings clearly, follow through on agreed actions and contribute constructively as part of a collaborative team.
Furthermore, you have
- A university degree in finance, accounting, auditing, business administration or a related field, combined with approximately 2-5 years of relevant professional experience
- Experience in either external audit, internal audit or internal controls; external audit experience with large multinational organisations is preferred
- Experience with manufacturing, FMCG, supply chain or other process-driven businesses is an advantage
- Good knowledge of accounting, financial reporting, auditing and internal control principles
- Practical experience in control testing, analysing audit evidence, documenting findings and supporting remediation follow-up
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with stakeholders
- Interest in data analytics, transaction monitoring and digital control solutions; professional qualifications in accounting or auditing are an advantage
Please note that this role requires you to be in the office 50% of the time + one additional day (monthly).
