Guest Services Lodge Bartender Zoo

Duties: Under the general supervision of the Sales and Events Coordinator, the Guest Services Lodge – Bartender – Peoria Zoo will be responsible for:

• Sell and prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Set up bar area(s) before each event in a timely and efficient manner. Tear down bar area(s) at the end of each event; including returning all items to the proper storage area and disinfecting utensils.
• Keep bar area(s) stocked, clean, sanitary, and "visitor friendly" during each event.
• Attend to all customer needs/problems in a prompt & courteous manner. Includes making sure customers are not over-served.
• Check messages and work schedules at the start of the shift.
• Closeout registers and other devices at the end of the business day and transfer money and appropriate paperwork to the supervisor.
• Assist in the set-up and tear-down of rental events as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures that pertain to the duties performed. Support all aspects of the Park District’s safety program.
• Wear the proper designated uniform.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions: The work requires some physical exertion in handling supplies, equipment, and materials. Prolonged standing, bending, and stooping, and the ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds are required on a periodic basis. The programmed activities involve everyday risks, which require normal safety precautions typical of the recreation industry.
