Head of Group FP&A
Description
Head of Group FP&A | 📍London – Hybrid (2 days per week, Tuesdays & Thursdays) | 💰Competitive Salary + Benefits
We’re looking for an experienced Head of Group FP&A to lead financial planning, forecasting and strategic financial analysis across Moonpig Group, based in our London Head Office with hybrid working two days per week.
Reporting directly to the Group FP&A Director, you'll play a key role in shaping our financial plans, supporting strategic decisions and helping senior leaders understand the story behind our performance.
We're looking for someone with deep FP&A expertise, strong commercial judgement and excellent financial storytelling skills. You'll be confident turning complex financial information into clear, engaging presentations and recommendations for senior leaders, the Board and external stakeholders.
You'll lead Group-wide budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning, oversee people and operating costs, and take ownership of the financial content supporting our Investor Relations activities, including financial results, investor presentations and market updates.
You'll work closely with the Group FP&A Director and CFO, bringing the independence and confidence to challenge assumptions, offer fresh perspectives and influence important business decisions.
You'll also help improve our financial planning systems, reporting processes and ways of working, while supporting the development of our FP&A team.
This is an opportunity to take on a broad, influential finance leadership role and make a real impact on how Moonpig Group plans, communicates and delivers its financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Lead the Group's budgeting, forecasting and long-range financial planning processes.
-
Coordinate planning activities across Finance and wider business teams, ensuring plans are aligned and delivered on time.

-
Support strategic planning and key business transformation initiatives, providing financial analysis and recommendations.
-
Own Group-wide staff cost and operating expense (opex) budgeting and forecasting.
-
Partner with People teams and functional leaders to support accurate headcount planning and effective cost management.
-
Work closely with the Group FP&A Director, CFO and senior leadership team to communicate financial performance, risks and opportunities.
-
Take ownership of the financial content supporting Investor Relations, including results preparation, investor presentations and market updates.
-
Partner with the CFO on external financial messaging, ensuring financial performance is communicated clearly, accurately and consistently.
-
Prepare high-quality Board papers, trading updates, earnings materials and presentations for external stakeholders.

Translate complex financial analysis into clear, compelling financial stories that support strategic decisions.
-
Manage and develop a Senior FP&A Analyst, supporting their growth and performance.
-
Support improvements to financial planning systems and tools, including Planful where relevant.
-
Drive continuous improvement across FP&A processes, reporting, controls and planning capabilities.
About You:
-
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience and a strong background in FP&A or commercial finance.
-
Proven experience operating at a senior FP&A or commercial finance leadership level, with responsibility for complex financial planning, forecasting and reporting.
-
Experience gained in a fast-paced, commercially focused business, ideally within consumer-facing, ecommerce, retail or a similar environment where financial performance and customer behaviour are closely linked.
-
Strong experience leading annual budgets, rolling forecasts and long-range financial plans, including working across multiple teams or business areas.
-
Experience working with senior leadership teams, with the judgement and confidence to challenge assumptions, influence decisions and operate independently.
-
Excellent financial modelling and analytical skills, with the ability to identify key performance drivers and translate complex data into practical recommendations.
-
Outstanding financial storytelling and presentation skills, with proven experience preparing financial reports, Board presentations, client presentations or other materials for senior external stakeholders.
-
A strong understanding of how to communicate financial performance, including explaining results, risks, opportunities and future outlook in a clear and engaging way.
-
Experience managing and developing finance professionals, with a collaborative approach to leadership.
-
Strong commercial awareness, curiosity and the ability to balance detailed financial analysis with the bigger strategic picture.
-
Experience working in a listed business or directly supporting Investor Relations, financial results announcements or external market communications would be an advantage, but is not essential.
-
Experience using financial planning systems such as Planful would be beneficial, but isn't required.
