Head of Planning and Forecasting

Description
You will lead the financial planning cycle, including budgeting, rolling forecasts, long-range plans, and scenario analysis. You will deliver decision-ready insight, challenge commercial assumptions, partner with senior leaders, develop the planning function, and lead the implementation and ongoing development of Anaplan.
Responsibilities
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes
- Develop integrated planning across profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow, and operational drivers
- Own planning governance, assumptions, timetables, and review processes
- Improve forecast accuracy, planning efficiency, and financial transparency
- Analyse plans and forecasts to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and drivers
- Lead scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis
- Provide financial insight for strategic initiatives, investment decisions, and transformation programmes
- Partner with senior leaders to improve financial planning
- Present planning outputs to senior, executive, and board-level stakeholders
- Lead, coach, and develop the planning team
- Improve planning processes, models, and templates
- Lead implementation and ongoing development of Anaplan
Requirements
- Qualified accountant or finance professional, ideally ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent
- Substantial experience in FP&A, financial planning, commercial finance, or finance business partnering
- Experience leading budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning
- Experience influencing senior stakeholders and commercial decision-making
- Experience managing and developing finance teams
- Advanced financial modelling and analytical capability
- Excel proficiency
- Experience with planning, ERP, EPM, or BI tools
- Understanding of profit and loss, balance sheets, cash flow, working capital, and financial performance drivers
- Financial services or technology experience
