Interim Activities Director, Up to Full-time (1.0) - Lewiston Altura Public Schools

Lewiston-Altura School District has an immediate opening for an interim Athletic Director at the high school for the remainder of the 2026-27 school year. The AD position will be under supervision of the high school principal. The position is on a separate contract as it involves supervision and evaluation of coaches. This position will require different percentages of time allocated daily to each role depending on the calendar of events. Position may lead to permanent employment after completion of the 2026-27 school year.

Athletic Director Responsibilities:

• Hire and Evaluate coaches/referees/event supervisors

• Scheduling and paid supervision of events

• Budgeting and Purchasing equipment for teams

• Promoting Lewiston-Altura High School activities

• Scheduling games/events/practices

• Attend athletic director regional and state meetings

• Participate in MSHSL conferences

• Help buildings and grounds set-up fields for events

• Recommend changes to policy and procedures related to student/parent/coach handbooks

• Implement and plan for proper conduct of participants and spectators at all public events

• Work with community organizations (LAHS Booster Club and Junior activities organizations)

Possible Additional Duties dependent on Hire:

• Supervise two lunch waves
• Community Education Director
• Sub in emergency situations only

Required Skills/Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in an education related field

• Experience as Coach / Head Coach / Director / Advisor

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

• Teacher license / substitute teaching license / Administrative Licensure

• Master's degree or greater in an educational field

• Five or more years of experience in education (must be a tenured staff member)

• Experience as a Coach / Head Coach / Advisor of multiple sports or activities
