Junior Java Developer

We’re looking for a talented Junior Java Developer to join our growing team in Leeds. Working as part of a collaborative and agile environment, you’ll play a key role in designing, developing and maintaining high-quality software solutions that support our business and customers. This is an exciting opportunity to work with modern technologies, contribute to innovative projects, and have a real impact on the products and services we deliver.

Trading Engineering maintains and develops our sports betting platform. We work in agile teams to build customer-focused software, with attention to flexibility, performance, responsiveness and resilience. Our technology includes Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, databases, Kubernetes and AWS.

What you will be doing:

• Developing your software engineering skills with dedicated time for learning and support from your team
• Contributing across the software development lifecycle, helping deliver high-quality software that meets customer needs
• Learning to solve problems independently, while knowing when to work with others to align with technical and business priorities
• Gaining experience with modern engineering practices and tools across programming, testing, automation, cloud services, databases, messaging and monitoring. Use Agile approaches including Scrum and Kanban

Who we are looking for:

• BSc or higher in Computer Science or a related subject
• Recent graduate
• Experience developing software
• Experience working as part of a team with knowledge of operating systems, programming languages or databases

Should you be successful in securing this role, it will be a requirement to live within a 1 hour commute to our Leeds office.
