This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Lead Teacher – Software Development & AI (Full-Stack) IT SkillSprint based in United Kingdom.

Are you passionate about software engineering, artificial intelligence, and shaping the next generation of tech talent? As Lead Teacher, you will deliver an intensive full-stack development and AI training programme designed for third-year university students. You will combine engaging live instruction, hands-on coding sessions, and collaborative projects to help learners build practical, industry-relevant technical skills. You will guide students through modern backend and frontend technologies while demonstrating how to integrate AI tools responsibly into real-world development workflows. Working remotely with an international education team, you will foster an inclusive, collaborative, and engaging learning environment. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' professional development while contributing to an ambitious digital skills initiative.

Accountabilities

  • Deliver engaging technical instruction: Lead daily live lectures, interactive demonstrations, and coding sessions, combining two hours of theory and demonstrations with two hours of guided laboratory and practical work.

  • Prepare and adapt learning materials: Develop balanced daily lesson plans, adjust teaching methods to students' progress, and deliver the established curriculum in line with programme learning objectives.

  • Mentor students through practical projects: Guide student teams through major collaborative assignments, including the Mid-Bootcamp Project and Final Capstone, helping them apply their knowledge to real-world challenges.

  • Integrate AI into software development education: Teach students how to use AI coding assistants effectively and responsibly for code generation, debugging, refactoring, testing, documentation, and AI-enabled feature development.

  • Assess performance and provide feedback: Review assignments, administer assessments, evaluate technical progress, and provide timely, constructive feedback that supports continuous improvement.

  • Provide ongoing student support: Lead question-and-answer sessions, explain complex technical concepts clearly, and help students with different experience levels overcome learning challenges.

  • Coordinate classroom activities: Work closely with the Teaching Assistant to organize laboratory sessions, monitor student progress, and ensure effective day-to-day learning delivery.

  • Collaborate with programme stakeholders: Coordinate with programme managers, project managers, and client representatives to maintain alignment with academic objectives and student outcomes.

  • Build an inclusive learning community: Encourage teamwork, critical thinking, curiosity, and continuous learning while creating a supportive environment that accommodates different learning styles and needs.

  • Requirements

    • Professional experience: At least three years of professional experience in full-stack web development and software engineering.

    • Teaching and mentoring: Previous experience teaching or mentoring learners in software development bootcamps, university programmes, or comparable technical training environments.

    • Backend development expertise: Strong knowledge of Java fundamentals, object-oriented programming, collections, testing, Spring Boot, REST APIs, dependency injection, controllers, SQL databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, JPA/Hibernate, Spring Security, JWT authentication, and microservices or messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.

    • Frontend development expertise: Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, React, Next.js, HTML5, and CSS3.

    • DevOps and development tools: Experience with Git and GitHub workflows, Docker, Docker Compose, CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, and REST or GraphQL API integration.

    • AI-assisted development: Practical experience using AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or Codeium. The ability to demonstrate how these tools improve development workflows while maintaining code quality and engineering standards is essential.

    • Responsible AI practices: A strong understanding of AI-related security, data privacy, code quality, and the importance of critically reviewing and validating AI-generated outputs.

    • Communication skills: Fluent English at C1 level or above, with the ability to communicate complex software architecture, programming concepts, and AI applications clearly. All teaching and instructional materials will be delivered in English.

    • Interpersonal strengths: Excellent presentation, organization, collaboration, and mentoring skills, combined with adaptability, patience, and a genuine passion for helping others learn.

    • Availability: Ability to commit to a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, and travel to Baku, Azerbaijan, for three programme milestones.

    • Benefits

      • Fully remote working: Deliver the programme remotely while working with an international team, with the Netherlands serving as the position's designated location.

      • Full-time engagement: A structured commitment of 40 hours per week, from Monday to Friday.

      • International teaching experience: Contribute to a cross-border digital skills initiative designed to strengthen students' software engineering and AI capabilities.

      • Professional impact: Help aspiring technology professionals develop practical, career-relevant skills through hands-on learning and project-based instruction.

      • Technical development: Work with modern full-stack technologies, AI-assisted development tools, and contemporary software engineering practices.

      • International collaboration: Engage with programme stakeholders and education professionals in a collaborative, multicultural environment.

      • Covered business travel: Round-trip flights, local accommodation, and a daily per diem will be fully covered for the three required on-site visits to Baku, Azerbaijan.

      • Defined programme timeline: Participate in preparation and curriculum adaptation in January, with classes beginning on 15 February, the Mid-Bootcamp Project taking place in April, and the programme concluding on 9 July 2027.
