Leave Replacement - High School Biology and Chemistry Teacher

Job Description:

The Croton-Harmon School District has an anticipated opening for a Leave Replacement Biology and Chemistry Teacher in the Croton-Harmon High School starting in mid-October. NYS certification in Biology is required and dual certification in Chemistry, or chemistry background, is preferred.

The successful candidate will be able to:

• Utilize school and district resources such as instructional/pedagogical coaching to create engaging, future-focused lessons, units, and assessments.
• Commit to ongoing professional learning and develop and adjust curriculum on an ongoing basis to meet students' needs and interests.
• Stay current on best and burgeoning pedagogical and curricular practices.
• Commit to our district's Vision Map ( https://www.chufsd.org/what-school-can-be ) that centers on reimagining learning, pursuit of passion, and building a culture of wellness in a future-focused system in an effort to develop "What School Can Be."
• Plan collaboratively with colleagues and be open to sharing and learning with and from others.
• Create a personalized learning environment for students that meets individual needs and challenges students to reach their full potential.
• Have the ability to self-evaluate, be reflective and problem solve.
