History Teacher – IGCSE Exam Preparation – In-Person Lessons in Zurich

Flying Teachers is currently seeking a qualified and dedicated History Teacher to provide personalised one-to-one tuition and targeted preparation for the IGCSE History examination in Zurich.
The lessons will take place in person and are intended for a student planning to sit the IGCSE History examination in June 2027 or June 2028.
Course Details
Subject: History – One-to-One Tuition and IGCSE Exam Preparation
Location: Zurich and surrounding areas
Start Date: From November 2026, by mutual agreement
Teaching Hours: 2 hours per month
Frequency: Two 60-minute lessons per month
Teaching Format: In-person tuition
Lesson Schedule and Location
Lessons can take place either at a suitable location in the Zurich area or on a school campus in Zurich.
The exact schedule will be arranged in consultation with the teacher and the student's family.
About the Student and Learning Objectives
The student is preparing to sit the IGCSE History examination in June 2027 or June 2028.
While the student will undertake most of the examination preparation independently, they require an experienced History Teacher to provide individual guidance and academic support twice a month.
The primary objectives of the lessons are to strengthen the student's historical knowledge and understanding, clarify any questions arising during independent study, and develop the knowledge, analytical skills and examination techniques required for success in the IGCSE History examination.
Familiarity with the Cambridge or International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum would be highly advantageous.

Your Responsibilities
As a History Teacher at Flying Teachers, you will be expected to:
Plan and deliver well-structured, engaging and goal-oriented lessons.
Provide student-centred instruction tailored to the learner's individual needs and academic objectives.
Guide and support the student throughout their independent preparation for the IGCSE History examination.
Explain historical topics and concepts clearly, effectively and in an age-appropriate manner.
Help the student develop historical knowledge, critical thinking skills and effective examination strategies.
Monitor learning progress as needed and provide constructive, targeted feedback.
Maintain accurate records of lesson attendance and student progress.
Communicate professionally, reliably and promptly with our administrative team.
Be based in Zurich or the surrounding area, ideally.
Hold valid authorisation to work in Switzerland.
Your Qualifications and Skills
We are looking for a teacher who meets the following criteria:
A relevant academic qualification in History, Education or a closely related field.
Experience with the Cambridge or International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum.
Previous experience teaching secondary school students, preferably in a one-to-one setting.
A good command of English.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine enthusiasm for working with young learners.
A patient, supportive and motivating teaching approach.
Flexibility and the ability to adapt teaching methods to individual learning needs.
The ability to work independently in a structured, organised and reliable manner.
Availability to deliver in-person lessons in Zurich or the surrounding area twice a month, after school hours.
