LIBRARY/MEDIA PARAPROFESSIONAL-LONG TERM SUBSTITUTE

This position will run upon hire until January 20, 2027.

Reports to: Principal

Department: Paraprofessional

Works with: Faculty and Students

Job Summary: Assists students and teachers in locating books and resource materials and maintains library materials in an orderly fashion.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assists students and teachers in locating books and materials and helps identify appropriate books for student's ability level.
• Assists the Media Specialist as needed.
• Prepares and processes new books.
• Checks books and materials in and out of library.
• Repairs books as needed.
• Shelves books returned to library.
• Monitors and checks equipment in and out.
• Prepares list of overdue books and informs students of overdue materials
• Maintains inventories of books, film strips, magazines, and related study kits.Assists with classes in computer lab.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience as a paraprofessional preferred.
• Experience using office equipment and computer hardware/software.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school staff and students.

The hourly rate for this long term substitute position will be $18.63 per hour.
