TITLE: Lunch & Recess Supervisor

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervision: Monitor students in the cafeteria, playground, and hallways to ensure safe, respectful, and responsible behavior.
• Lunchroom Duties: Oversee student seating, maintain cleanliness, manage noise levels, and assist students with lunch routines.
• Recess Management: Supervise outdoor play, organize games, manage equipment, and ensure safe, inclusive play.
• Safety and Discipline: Mediate conflicts, address bullying or unsafe play, and report injuries or serious behavioral incidents to administrators.
• Routine Maintenance: Enforce school policies regarding behavior, transitions, and, if required, assist with cleaning.
• Collaborate with teachers, instructional assistants, and administrators to ensure a successful school environment.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent, with some positions preferring previous experience working with children.
• Skills: Strong communication skills, ability to manage, positive relationships with students, and basic behavior management techniques.
• Physical Ability: Ability to move throughout the playground/cafeteria and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Work Environment

• Exposure to high noise levels in the cafeteria and outside weather conditions during recess.
• Direct, consistent interaction with students, requiring active monitoring.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

180 days

10:45 am - 1:00 pm

Pay Rate: $13.00/Hr
