Machinist - 1st Shift

We are hiring a Machinist in our Pottstown, PA location. This position is on 1st Shift and the hours are 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by performing preventive and corrective maintenance on conveyor systems and production equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and identify root causes using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Set up, tear down, repair, fabricate, and install production equipment and mechanical components.
• Perform maintenance repairs using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other trade-related tools.
• Read and interpret mechanical schematics and drawings to complete repairs and fabrication projects.
• Operate manual machining equipment, including lathes, milling machines, and drill presses, to fabricate, modify, and repair precision components.
• Machine complex parts to tight tolerances using manual machining equipment and validate conformance with precision measuring instruments.
• Fabricate equipment and machine components used in processing and packaging operations.
• Help reduce downtime by supporting operators and promoting routine maintenance practices.
• Train and mentor lower-level maintenance employees.
• Work safely while maintaining a clean and organized work area and utilizing required PPE.
• Participate in training to further develop technical and trade skills.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; two-year degree in a specialized maintenance trade preferred and 5+ years of related experience
• Experience operating manual machining equipment, including manual lathes, milling machines, and related machine shop equipment required
• Ability to machine precision parts and components to tight tolerances using precision measuring instruments required
• Tool and die experience preferred
• CNC machining and programming experience preferred
• Welding experience required
• Advanced mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with high-speed manufacturing equipment
• Ability to read and interpret safety documents, maintenance instructions, and mechanical drawings
• Ability to complete work orders and use computer systems
• Strong communication skills and ability to work safely in a team environment
• Must be able to lift up to 90 lbs.

Compensation and Benefits:

The base salary range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00 per hour. The pay range represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to educations, skills, work experience, certifications, geography etc. As such, starting pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
