Description

Career Opportunity: Manufacturing Shop Manager with HydraTech Engineered Products, LLC in Cincinnati, Ohio

Are you an experienced manufacturing leader who enjoys leading a small team and staying close to day-to-day shop operations? Do you like having ownership over production, quality, scheduling and getting customer orders out the door? If you're looking for a manager role where you can make a direct impact without managing a large department, this could be a great fit.

Pay: $68,000-$78,000 per year, plus performance-based bonuses

Schedule: Onsite, Full-time, Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

HydraTech Engineered Products is seeking a Manufacturing Shop Manager to lead a small manufacturing team at its Cincinnati operation. This is a working manager role for someone who enjoys being close to the shop floor while taking ownership of daily production and team performance.

You'll lead the team, set daily priorities, coordinate production schedules, and help ensure customer orders are completed safely, accurately and on time. You'll also oversee key shop functions such as inventory, purchasing, quality and shipping. Hands-on production support may occasionally be needed, but the primary focus of the position is leading the team and managing the operation.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead, train and motivate a small team of manufacturing employees; assign work with realistic time expectations and communicate daily priorities.
  • Create work orders and schedules; oversee fabrication, welding, assembly, vulcanizing, packaging and related shop activities.
  • Review drawings and job requirements; track labor, productivity, lost time and on-time delivery to keep production on plan.
  • Manage inventory records and purchasing; partner with vendors on pricing, availability, quality and delivery.
  • Oversee quality inspections, root-cause analysis and corrective action plans.
  • Coordinate domestic and international shipping documents, including packing lists, labels and bills of lading.
  • Champion safety, near-miss reporting, 5S, cleanliness, equipment maintenance and shop organization.
  • Provide hands-on support when needed, including occasional chemical-batch preparation using approved procedures; this capability is preferred but not required.

What You Bring:

  • Relevant manufacturing experience; a degree is not required.
  • Five or more years of manufacturing experience and at least three years leading a small team of employees.
  • Experience in fabrication, welding, assembly or custom manufacturing, including scheduling, inventory, purchasing, quality and shipping.
  • Ability to read complex drawings, blueprints and specifications.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, communication, organization, problem-solving and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and inventory software; QuickBooks experience is a plus.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

This role works in both an office and an active manufacturing environment and requires frequent standing, walking and sitting, plus occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made for qualified individuals.

Why Join HydraTech?

  • Competitive salary and performance-based bonus opportunity
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Health, dental, vision and life insurance
  • Paid time off and a stable weekday schedule
  • Ownership of a small operation that supports critical infrastructure
