Description

About Willdan

Willdan is a nationwide provider of solutions that help organizations thrive as natural resources and infrastructure change, with experts in energy, engineering, and consulting services. We have delivered more than 100,000 projects for public agencies, businesses, and institutions, and we provide program administration and grid-resiliency support to more than 50 investor-owned utilities. For five decades, we’ve paired the stability of an established firm with the flexibility of a growing one, and our people come to work each day to make a real, positive impact on society and the environment.

The Role

You will own marketing strategy for utility energy efficiency programs, so that developers, buildings owners, and design teams know what the programs offer and act on it. Working with the Program Manager and utility client, you’ll use digital marketing, content, and storytelling to build awareness and demand for energy-efficient commercial, industrial, and multifamily buildings. Marketing builds that demand, and our Outreach team turns it into program participation. You’ll partner with them closely.

This is a role for someone who wants to build the system, not just run the play. You’ll set the strategy, define the metrics, and hold every deliverable to a high standard of accuracy and brand consistency. Success means strong utility client confidence and measurable impact on program enrollment, energy savings, and carbon emissions reduction.

Is this You?

We’re looking for a specific kind of person. Read these honestly before you apply.

  • You bring new, bold ideas to the table, you aren’t afraid to try something that hasn’t been done before, and you know how to tell whether it’s working.
  • You think strategically and let the data make the argument.
  • You do your best work with autonomy and a clear objective. You would rather own a problem end to end than be handed a checklist.
  • You care about the details. A typo, an off-brand color, or an unverified number bothers you, and you fix it before anyone else notices.
  • You build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and partners, and you can rally people around a plan.
  • You like structure but know when a plan needs to change.

What You’ll Do

Strategy & Planning

  • Evaluate and establish the program marketing plan and strategy with the Program Manager built around utility client priorities. Set goals and KPIs, plan promotional presentations, maintain the marketing calendar, and align with Program Managers and Regional Outreach Managers so marketing and outreach strategies support each other.
  • Set event and sponsorship strategy. Choose which conferences, trade shows, and expos to prioritize, define goals for each and measure results. The Events & Partnerships Coordinator leads planning and execution.
  • Identify partnerships with community-based organization and industry groups that extend program visibility.
  • Conduct research on market trends, the competitive landscape, and customer behavior, and turn the findings into marketing plans and recommendations.
  • Develop and manage marketing budgets, and monitor actual results against plans and forecasts.

Execution & Communication

  • Develop and run campaigns across email, social media, print, website, and advertising that reach developers, buildings owners, and design teams.
  • Create, proofread, and edit copy for all channels, keeping a consistent voice aligned with Willdan’s style and each utility client’s brand guidelines.
  • Keep sales and program materials current and accurate, coordinate new materials as program requirements evolve, and make sure all materials are accessible, with multilingual versions where needed.
  • Develop case studies and success stories with workforce, service provider, and technical teams.
  • Use analytics to measure campaign performance, audit work against program goals and compliance standards, and recommend improvements to effectiveness and pipeline quality.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Keep the Outreach team informed on who each campaign targets, when it launches, and what it says, and equip them with the materials they need to follow up with interested prospects.
  • Work with other marketing team members on shared projects and lead internal training on marketing best practices.
  • Present marketing findings, progress, and recommendations to program leadership and utility clients.
