About Abridge

Founded in 2018, Abridge is the first AI-native clinician intelligence platform organized around the patient, built for clinicians, and designed to help health systems coordinate the clinical, financial, and evidence-based decisions for every moment of care. Powered by purpose-built AI for healthcare, Abridge connects patients, providers, payers, and life sciences companies. This year, the platform will support more than 100 million patient-clinician conversations across more than 300 of the largest and most complex health systems in the U.S. With deep workflow integration, the Abridge clinician intelligence platform has been validated to support encounters in 28+ languages across specialties and care settings.

Abridge is setting the industry standard for the responsible deployment of Al across health systems with continual and transparent Al evaluation. Clinical decision support references and cites gold-standard sources of evidence, and features like Linked Evidence map AI-generated documentation to source data, helping clinicians quickly trust and verify the output.

Abridge was awarded Best in KLAS for Ambient AI in 2025 and 2026, in addition to other accolades, including TIME Best Inventions of 2024 and 2025, CNBC Disruptor 2025, and Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies 2025.

We are a growing team of practicing clinicians, AI scientists, PhDs, creatives, technologists, and engineers working together to transform healthcare. We have offices located in San Francisco, New York, and Pittsburgh.

The Role

As a Product Designer at Abridge, you won’t just be designing software. You’ll be redesigning the future of healthcare delivery. You’ll create experiences that give clinicians back time, reduce cognitive load, and enable doctors to give their patients undivided attention again.

Healthcare is broken in ways most people don’t see. Clinicians spend much of their time on administrative tasks, contributing to unprecedented burnout and compromised patient care. The current state of clinical documentation forces doctors to choose between looking at their patients and looking at their computers.

We’re hiring product designers with a range of experience levels, strengths, and areas of expertise. Your scope will reflect what you bring to the team, but every designer at Abridge is expected to take meaningful ownership, navigate ambiguity, and help raise the quality of our products and practice.

This role is for someone who dreams big and can reimagine experiences. You’ll work on problems that have never been solved before, in an industry where design decisions directly affect human lives and well-being.

What You’ll Do

As a Product Designer, you’ll shape the product experience at Abridge, setting a high bar for taste, clarity, and strategic thinking across initiatives that directly impact clinicians, patients, and care teams.

You’ll collaborate deeply with cross-functional partners, immerse yourself in the complexity of clinical workflows, and bring structure and empathy to ambiguous problems. Whether you’re exploring new ideas or refining existing experiences, you’ll advocate for design excellence throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Simplify the Complex: Tackle challenging and ambiguous design and customer problems, transforming complex clinical workflows and AI capabilities into intuitive, thoughtful, and delightful experiences.

  • Elevate Our Craft and Standards: Push the boundaries of visual and interaction design. Bring a strong command of design principles, motion, and prototyping; contribute to our evolving design standards; and ensure every detail and interaction is carefully considered.

  • Own End-to-End Design Execution: Design for today’s needs and tomorrow’s challenges, translating early ideas into clear product direction, high-fidelity designs, prototypes, and user flows. No task is too small or too large when it contributes to building an exceptional product.

  • Champion User-Centered Design: Advocate passionately for the clinicians and care teams who rely on our product every day. Engage in user research, synthesize insights, and ground design decisions in a deep understanding of users’ needs and pain points.

  • Lead Through Collaboration: Build strong partnerships across design, product, engineering, research, and other disciplines. Communicate clearly, invite feedback, and help teams make thoughtful decisions that balance user needs, business goals, and technical realities.

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years of experience shipping impactful digital products, ideally within complex domains. Experience with AI-powered products is a plus.

  • A strong track record of taking meaningful design initiatives from concept through launch and demonstrating an impact on users and the business.

  • The ability to bring clarity and momentum to ambiguous problems, adapting your approach and level of ownership to the needs of the work.

  • A high craft bar that you consistently meet and help others elevate. You care deeply about the details while maintaining sight of the larger product experience.

  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and storytelling skills, with the ability to articulate design rationale and influence partners across functions.

  • A highly collaborative spirit and low ego, along with a genuine desire to learn, teach, give and receive feedback, and grow with a fast-paced, high-performing team.

Bonus Points If You Have Experience With

  • AI or machine-learning products

  • Consumer mobile products

  • Enterprise products

We value people who are eager to learn new things and recognize that great team members might not perfectly match a job description. If you’re interested in the role but aren’t sure whether or not you’re a good fit, we’d still like to hear from you.
