About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Network & Security Engineer to support, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize enterprise network and security environments across a diverse customer portfolio.

This role is responsible for delivering technical support, managing network infrastructure, resolving escalated incidents, maintaining security technologies, and contributing to continuous service improvement initiatives within a managed services environment.

The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in networking, firewall technologies, cloud platforms, and enterprise infrastructure support while maintaining a strong customer-service mindset.

Key Responsibilities

Network & Security Operations

• Configure, install, support, and maintain network and security infrastructure.
• Perform network maintenance, upgrades, patching, hotfix deployment, and security configuration updates.
• Troubleshoot and resolve Level 2 network and security incidents.
• Support routing, switching, wireless, firewall, load balancing, and security environments.
• Proactively monitor infrastructure using network monitoring and management tools.
• Investigate alerts and coordinate incident resolution activities.

Technical Support & Incident Management

• Manage incidents and service requests through the entire lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot complex network and security issues and provide timely resolutions.
• Escalate issues to vendors, suppliers, carriers, and technical teams when required.
• Maintain customers informed regarding progress and resolution status.
• Achieve SLA and service delivery targets.

Security & Infrastructure Administration

• Support network security technologies and enterprise infrastructure environments.
• Assist with firewall, authentication, access control, and security policy administration.
• Support cloud-based networking and security platforms.
• Participate in proactive problem management and performance optimization activities.

Service Delivery & Operations

• Support customer IT environments in accordance with agreed service levels.

• Perform scheduled maintenance activities including:

  • Backups
  • Security patching
  • Capacity management
  • Performance monitoring

• Maintain asset records and configuration management databases.

• Contribute to service catalog improvements and operational excellence initiatives.

Documentation & Knowledge Management

• Maintain technical documentation and knowledge base articles.
• Develop FAQs, user guides, and support documentation.
• Share technical knowledge and mentor junior engineers when required.
• Contribute to service improvement and process enhancement initiatives.

Requirements

• Diploma, TAFE qualification, or tertiary education in Information Technology, Networking, or a related discipline will be highly advantageous.
• Relevant industry certifications in Networking, Security, Firewalls, SD-WAN, Cloud, or related technologies.
• Minimum 5+ years of customer-facing technical experience.
• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting network and security infrastructure.
