Platform Engineer

You will build and maintain resilient, observable, cost-efficient cloud-native platform services. You will operate and troubleshoot open-source and cloud-native systems, manage Kubernetes clusters in AWS, improve messaging and database reliability, and solve distributed-systems challenges while meeting security and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Define and enforce patterns for resilient, observable, cost-efficient cloud-native microservices
• Run, troubleshoot, and optimise open-source and cloud-native platform systems
• Own the lifecycle and four-month upgrade cycle of high-availability Kubernetes clusters in AWS
• Evolve asynchronous messaging and critical database systems for performance and reliability
• Help shape sovereign-cloud and AI-optimised infrastructure operations
• Solve distributed-systems challenges within security and compliance constraints

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a Platform, SRE, or DevOps role
• Experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools
• Experience running workloads in Kubernetes and managing AWS cloud services
• Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, including performance tuning and RDS management
• Experience with asynchronous communication patterns, message queues, and RabbitMQ
• Knowledge of observability and production reliability
• Knowledge of cloud networking, including VPCs, routing, DNS, private endpoints, and connectivity patterns
• Interest in using AI and LLMs to improve the developer lifecycle
