We are seeking a Plumbing Design Engineer with 1-4 years of experience. This is a great opportunity to contribute to diverse, high-impact healthcare projects while continuing to grow your technical expertise in plumbing design and healthcare systems.

Location: Long Beach, CA (hybrid: 3 days in-office, 2 days remote)
Employment type: Full-time
Career level: Entry to mid-level
Salary range: $90,000 – $115,000. This role is also eligible for an annual performance‑based bonus. Bonus eligibility and payout are determined by role, individual performance, and company performance, and are not guaranteed.

What you’ll do

Apply engineering principles to plumbing design on medium to large healthcare projects
Perform engineering calculations, technical drawings and construction documents
Participate in BIM coordination, project meetings and design quality reviews
Prepare construction estimates, specifications, and proposals
Conduct field investigations and data collection, and attend job walks
Review submittals, RFI, shop drawings and support the construction administration activites and produce meeting reports and punch lists
Collaborate with clients, senior engineers, and project teams to deliver successful projects
Travel to job sites as needed
Grow into project budgeting, scheduling, mentoring of junior engineers, and business development

What you bring

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
1-4 years of engineering design experience post-graduation, or equivalent professional experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam
Working knowledge of Revit; AutoCAD is a plus
Familiarity with the California Plumbing Code, National Plumbing Code, and California Energy Code
Familiarity with HCAI codes, standards, PINS, and CANS, and with NFPA-99 (or a strong interest in learning them)
