Procurement Category Manager, Controls - Data Center Services Procurement, DCSP
Posted Updated
Description
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.
You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.
As a Procurement Category Manager for Controls, you will own and shape the sourcing strategy for one of AWS's most critical and supply-constrained categories across the APJC region. You will collaborate with internal business partners and suppliers to reduce risk, drive cost efficiency, and ensure supply continuity for AWS data center builds. You will develop robust mechanisms to hold suppliers accountable for performance and delivery, and drive results through competitive bidding, negotiation, and data-driven market analysis.
The ideal candidate thinks long term, drives multiple initiatives simultaneously, and communicates and influences effectively at all levels — with customers, suppliers, and senior stakeholders alike. To be successful in this role you must be highly analytical, strategically minded, and comfortable operating with significant autonomy in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment. A high level of customer focus, business judgement, and a genuine bias for action are essential. You must also have a demonstrated track record of managing complex projects and driving them to completion against business objectives, while embracing and modelling Amazon's Leadership Principles and have an entrepreneurial spirit with a “get it done” mentality.
Key job responsibilities
• Own end-to-end procurement for the Controls category across the APJC region within both CAPEX and OPEX domains, covering tender management, supplier selection, and ongoing supplier performance.
• Develop and execute category strategies informed by deep market intelligence, supply chain analysis, and an understanding of customer priorities across regions
• Provide the business with in-depth knowledge of supply market dynamics, supplier capabilities, and geographic constraints to support informed decision-making — actively influencing stakeholder priorities and decisions through data-driven insights and category expertise
• Build and maintain supplier performance frameworks — including scorecards, KPIs, and business reviews — to drive continuous improvement in delivery, quality, and cost
• Achieve cost savings and favourable commercial terms through competitive bidding, strategic negotiations, and long-term supplier partnerships
• Proactively identify and manage supply risks, including single-source dependencies, lead time constraints, and underperforming suppliers, escalating and resolving issues with a solutions-oriented approach
• Drive innovation across the procurement lifecycle, including automation of RFQ processes and development of scalable tools to improve supplier data management and reporting
• Support contracting processes end-to-end, including negotiation, execution, and post-award contract management
• Travel of up to 25% may be required
