The Control Account Manager (CAM) serves as the single point of management responsibility for a designated control account within the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and Integrated Baseline Review (IBR) framework. This role ensures that cost, schedule, and technical performance are planned, monitored, and controlled in alignment with program baselines, earned value management (EVM) standards, and contractual requirements. The CAM bridges the gap between executive-level program oversight and detailed work package execution, providing visibility and decision support to senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain the control account within the IMS, ensuring work package definition, sequencing, and baselines are accurate and current
  • Lead or participate in Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs) and Integrated Performance Reviews (IPRs)
  • Track and report earned value metrics (EV, PV, AC), analyze variances, and initiate corrective/preventive actions
  • Coordinate with Work Package Managers (WPMs), Integrated Project Teams (IPTs), and functional disciplines (engineering, manufacturing, quality, logistics)
  • Develop and present status reports, briefings, and risk registers to program leadership and stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with LM EVM policies, DAU competencies, and applicable government contract requirements (FAR, DFARS)
  • Identify and mitigate schedule/cost risks; support root cause analysis of performance deviations
  • Facilitate data-driven decision making through performance trend analysis and forecast updates

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Computer Science, or related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in program management, integrated project control, or EVM in defense/aerospace
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to interface across multiple levels of management and contractor/ government teams
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain the required government security clearance
  • Role may require occasional travel (up to 20%) and support for off-site meetings/reviews
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with attention to detail and compliance

Desired Skills

  • Proven experience supporting IMS development, IBRs, and earned value management on large-scale programs
  • Experience with industry-standard scheduling tools (e.g., Open Plan, MS Project, DoD-generated scheduling software)
  • Familiarity with Agile/ Hybrid project management frameworks in addition to traditional WP/EVM approaches
  • Prior CAM or similar management point role on DoD/NASA/Intel community contracts
