June 21 – August 13, 2027 (No Camp July 5)
8:15 am – 5:00pm

COMPENSATION: $26.25 (per hour)

QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior experience as a camp supervisor, counselor, teacher, or in a similar leadership role
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
• Ability to work effectively with children in a group setting
• Ability to work collaboratively with camp staff and activity specialists
• Commitment to providing a safe, positive, and inclusive camp environment

• High School Graduate

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Summer Camp Assistant Directors will assist the Camp Director with the daily supervision and engagement of campers in the Travelers and Trailblazers K-1, and 4th-5th Grade groups. The Assistant Directors will help ensure the safety, engagement and positive interaction of campers & staff while supporting a fun, structured, and welcoming camp environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily schedules, coordinating and facilitating activities, supporting counselors and activity specialists, supervising campers, and attending all assigned group trips. The Assistant Director will serve as a positive role model and encourage campers to participate enthusiastically in all camp activities and events.

While on campus, the Assistant Director will collaborate with the Camp Director to plan and facilitate on-campus activities, including but not limited to arts & crafts, indoor and outdoor games, recreational activities, and other special camp events.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Assist the Camp Director with the daily operation and supervision of the camp program
• Help maintain a safe, organized, and positive environment for all campers
• Monitor the safety and security of campers throughout the camp day
• Assist with camper supervision during arrival, dismissal, transitions, activities, lunch, and other program periods
• Assist activity specialists and counselors with scheduled camp activities
• Help organize and facilitate on-campus recreational activities, games, and special events
• Attend and actively supervise campers during all assigned group camp trips
• Support counselors and staff in maintaining appropriate camper behavior and participation
• Communicate with the Camp Director regarding camper needs, concerns, and daily program operations
• Help ensure that camp schedules and activities run smoothly and on time
• Serve as a positive role model for campers and staff
• Complete additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Camp Director, Assistant Camp Manager, or Community School Program Manager
• Attend required staff orientation prior to the start of camp

• Attend the Family Meet & Greet prior to the start of camp

CAMP STAFF BENEFIT

Camp staff will be eligible for a camp tuition fee waiver for their child(ren), in accordance with Randolph Community School policies.
