Safety Officer

Primary Purpose:

To maintain the security and safety of students, staff, parents and visitors through close monitoring of assigned District campuses or facilities.

Qualifications::

High school diploma or GED required

Clear and valid Texas driver's license

Basic First Aid knowledge, preferred

Law Enforcement, Fire/Rescue, and/or Medical/Paramedic/EMT/EMR experience, preferred

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent or his designee may find appropriate and acceptable

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to clearly and accurately record information

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

Ability to work effectively with youths and adults

Ability to communicate effectively (verbally)

Demonstrated aptitude for successful completion of the task assigned Demonstrated knowledge of security procedures

Private security experience preferred including knowledge of school and local laws (including search and seizure)
