Weed Wellness Program – School Nurse Position
Job Title: School Nurse
Wage: $40.00/hourly
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Location: Weed Elementary School
Supervisor: Executive Director/Program Manager
Employment Status: Full Time (30 to 40 hours/week). Note: This position aligns with the Weed
Elementary school year calendar, with 4 to 8 weeks unpaid time off in June and/or July when
the school breaks for summer.
Benefits: 12 Paid Holidays. 40 Hours Paid Time off per calendar year thereafter (any unused
time will be paid out in the December 15-December 31st pay period). Mileage reimbursement
at the Federal rate of reimbursement when using personal vehicle to travel to and from
workplace as well as other approved work-related travel.
Scope and Range of Responsibility: Provide Nursing Services to include but not limited:
hearing and vision screenings, supervision of medication administration, specialized
physical health care plans, health assessments for Individual Education Program (IEP)
evaluations Epinephrine auto-injector programs and Naloxone programs, provide support
for HIV/AIDS prevention education programs, First Aid and CPR classes, assisting in
documentation for required immunizations.
Additional Duties: Includes collecting vital information from patients, gathering information
about health complaints, changing wound dressings, explaining prescriptions. Must be able
to perform duties and responsibilities that may include:
• Billing for approved services, to Siskiyou County Office of Education, MediCal,
Carelon Behavioral Health, or other associated third-party agencies for allowable
nursing services reimbursement.
• Recording and updating patient histories.
• Discussing health care issues and concerns.
• Acting as a point of contact for Local, County, State, and other associated
agencies.
