Senior Application Security Engineer
Description
About the company
Our client is a fast-growing financial technology company.
The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Own and grow an application security program while staying hands-on, with room to move into technical leadership as the company scales. You will build security tooling and processes, lead incident response, and support compliance efforts in a regulated environment.
What you'll do
- Own and mature the application security program, including tooling, processes and secure development lifecycle practices that fit naturally into how engineers ship code.
- Partner with engineering to design security architecture for automated AI-driven workflows, protecting data privacy and addressing emerging AI-specific vulnerabilities.
- Automate security processes, including detection pipelines and vulnerability management, to reduce manual effort.
- Act as primary incident commander and turn each incident into lasting systemic improvements.
- Contribute to industry certification efforts and customer-driven security requirements alongside core security work.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- 4 to 8 years of experience scaling a security program or architecture at a startup or on new initiatives at a high-growth technology company.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
- Deep hands-on application security experience, such as secure code review, threat modeling and penetration testing.
- Experience in fintech or another regulated B2B software environment.
- Track record of leading a company through formal security audits and certifications.
- Strong fundamentals in cloud security.
- Comfort working as a hands-on individual contributor who can grow into technical leadership.
