Description
- As a Senior Server Developer at Snowprint, you’ll work on the backend systems that power Warhammer 40,000: Tacticus
- You’ll build new features, improve existing systems, and take ownership of parts of the infrastructure that keep the game running
- With a live game, there is always something new to solve, and your work can go from idea to player-facing feature quickly
- You’ll join a small, experienced backend team where you’ll have a high level of responsibility and autonomy
- One day you might be working on a new feature, the next on infrastructure, troubleshooting a live issue, or responding to a new requirement from the team
- We work in an environment where things change regularly, so being able to adapt, make decisions, and keep moving is an important part of the role
- At Snowprint, we believe that kindness, curiosity, collaboration, and taking ownership are key to making great games
- We care about the player experience and work closely across disciplines to build and improve our games
- You’ll develop backend features for Tacticus and take ownership of parts of the backend systems, from planning and technical design through development, testing, and live operations. You’ll work on new features as well as improving and evolving existing systems to support the needs of a growing live game
- A significant part of the role will be working with our cloud infrastructure. You’ll help own and improve our cloud environment, working with AWS and infrastructure-as-code to build, maintain, and evolve the systems running the game. You’ll collaborate with our security and compliance specialists and help keep our development and live environments running smoothly
- You’ll work closely with your fellow developers, designers, and other disciplines to shape technical solutions and solve problems as they arise. You’ll participate in playtests, investigate issues in both development and live environments, and take part in on-call work
- The pace can be high and priorities can change quickly. You’ll need to be comfortable moving between feature development, infrastructure, troubleshooting, and other technical challenges as the needs of the game evolve
