Senior Full Stack Engineer | $90-$105/hr + Remote | Inc. 5000 Award-Winning, High-Growth Coaching Company

The Senior Full Stack Engineer will be working on a custom community platform built for personal development, coaching, courses, community forums, and daily engagement. The product is currently in private beta.

This is an opportunity to join at an important stage. There is already a substantial product and codebase, but meaningful engineering work remains before it is taken public. You'll initially work closely with the engineer who designed and built the platform, while progressively taking greater responsibility for its architecture, production readiness, and technical operations.

Beyond strong technical skills, we need someone who can take ownership of engineering delivery, support the existing technical lead, and step in to manage technical priorities and execution when needed. This includes working with multiple departments, handling competing requests, making decisions independently, and keeping projects moving in a fast paced environment.

The team also relies heavily on AI coding agents to accelerate software development. We're looking for an engineer who knows how to use these tools effectively while maintaining responsibility for code quality, testing, technical judgment, and successful delivery.

Responsibilities

1. Technical Leadership and Ownership: Work closely with the existing technical lead and take ownership of engineering delivery when needed. Coordinate development work, make technical decisions, resolve blockers, and ensure projects move forward without constant supervision.

2. Full Stack Development: Own features from architecture and database design through development, testing, deployment, and production support. Work across Vue.js, Nuxt, Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Prisma, and AWS, with a strong backend focus.

3. Cross Functional Collaboration and Execution: Work with product, operations, and other departments to understand requirements, manage competing priorities, estimate work, communicate progress, and deliver against tight deadlines.

4. AI Assisted Development: Use AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar tools to accelerate development. Write clear instructions, review generated code, identify mistakes, validate functionality, and ensure changes meet requirements without introducing unnecessary complexity.

5. Architecture, Security, and Production: Assess and improve the platform's security, scalability, performance, and reliability. Own technical QA, testing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and release readiness while prioritizing essential improvements over unnecessary redesigns.

6. Technical Collaboration and Integrations: Review and validate work from external engineering partners, support technical knowledge transfer, and maintain integrations such as Stripe Connect, LiveKit, Twilio, Zoom, Anthropic, and pgvector. Contribute to production AI architecture, including LLM integrations, RAG, and agents, when needed.

• Senior Engineering Experience: 8 to 12+ years of software engineering experience, with strong production experience in Vue.js, backend development, and relational database design. PostgreSQL is preferred, while Nuxt and Prisma experience are a plus.

• Technical Leadership: Proven experience leading engineering delivery, owning complex technical projects, making independent decisions, and taking responsibility for results. Must be capable of stepping in for an existing technical lead when needed.

• Project Management and Communication: Experience managing multiple priorities, coordinating with different departments, communicating with stakeholders, and delivering work under tight deadlines in a fast moving environment.

• AI Coding Proficiency: Proven experience using AI coding agents on production software, including directing AI tools, reviewing generated code, identifying errors, and validating results. Experience with LLM architecture, RAG, or AI agents is a strong plus.

• Architecture and Production Ownership: Strong experience with backend architecture, APIs, databases, infrastructure, security, scalability, testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support. Able to evaluate existing systems and make practical improvements without unnecessary rewrites.

• Independence and Adaptability: Highly organized, self sufficient, and comfortable working in a startup environment with changing priorities. Able to balance development speed, technical quality, and business needs while collaborating effectively with internal teams and external engineering partners.
