Senior Java Software Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Java Software Engineer to join our team of world-class engineers at EPAM's Financial Services Practice. Our clients are some of the world's largest and most innovative banks, investment banks and wealth management institutions.

Please note that working from the client's office is required 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Develop robust Java-based applications and solutions for financial services clients
• Implement REST APIs to support business requirements
• Apply reactive programming principles to build responsive systems
• Design and maintain unit tests to ensure code quality and reliability
• Integrate NoSQL databases into application architecture
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software
• Contribute to architectural decisions for scalable systems

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in Java software development, with a focus on Java 8 & 9
• Experience with NoSQL databases, ideally with MongoDB
• Expertise in REST API implementation, ideally with JAX-RS
• Experience with Reactive Programming, ideally with RxJava
• Background in implementing unit tests
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher

Nice to have

• Experience developing applications in fintech or established financial institutions
• Familiarity with microservice architectures
• Experience developing systems that can scale to large amounts of data
• Experience working in Agile Scrum
• Experience working on a globally distributed team
