Senior/Lead Go Developer

We are seeking a Senior/Lead Go Developer to join an exciting open source engagement focused on Kueue — a Kubernetes-native technology to run and manage batch workloads on Kubernetes Clusters. You will act as both an open source contributor and SRE to help improve Kueue, with immediate activities, including expanding its rich feature set such as advanced MultiKueue multi-cluster dispatching, topology-aware scheduling for distributed AI/ML workloads, and deeper framework integrations (including ray.io). This work involves open source contributions to core upstream projects to solve complex batch scheduling bottlenecks.

Responsibilities

• Understand and analyze client needs
• Design and professionally articulate solutions to the client
• Take ownership of implementation and open source contribution
• Communicate effectively using official Kubernetes SIG channels and teams
• Collaborate with upstream teams on expanding Kueue's feature set
• Contribute to core upstream projects to solve complex batch scheduling bottlenecks
• Apply creative, out-of-the-box thinking to drive project success

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• Excellent knowledge of Kubernetes, including Custom Resource Definitions, controller-runtime, and debugging cluster issues
• Proficiency in Go
• Understanding of Cloud and Container architecture
• Proficiency in using AI tools to accelerate development and problem-solving
• Solid understanding of Git and GitHub workflows
• Background in Systems engineering (Linux)
• English proficiency at an Upper-Intermediate level (B2) or higher

Nice to have

• Hands-on expertise with batch scheduling technologies and frameworks (ray.io, KubeRay, Spark, JobSet, MPIJob)
• Skills in Python and ML engineering
• Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform
