This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel based in Netherlands.

We are seeking an experienced legal professional to take ownership of international gaming regulation, corporate and commercial matters within a growing, multi-jurisdictional business. Reporting to the Head of Legal, you will act as a trusted adviser to senior leadership and cross-functional teams, helping the business navigate complex regulatory environments while supporting its commercial objectives. You will oversee licensing and market-entry matters, advise on strategic business initiatives, and manage sophisticated international agreements and corporate projects. This is a hands-on role offering significant autonomy, broad international exposure, and the opportunity to contribute to the development of a proactive legal function. The position is fully remote.

Accountabilities

  • International gaming regulation: Provide expert legal advice on gambling and iGaming regulations across multiple jurisdictions, particularly in B2B gaming operations.

  • Regulatory risk and market entry: Assess legal and regulatory requirements for entering new markets, identify potential risks, and provide practical recommendations.

  • Licensing and compliance: Manage gaming licence applications, renewals, and ongoing regulatory obligations.

  • Regulatory monitoring: Track legislative and regulatory developments and evaluate their impact on business operations and strategy.

  • Regulator and adviser relations: Liaise with gaming regulators, relevant authorities, and external legal advisers across jurisdictions.

  • Commercial regulatory advice: Advise internal teams on the regulatory implications of commercial agreements, integrations, and business initiatives.

  • Corporate matters: Support corporate governance, group structures, intercompany arrangements, entity incorporations, restructurings, and other international corporate projects.

  • Commercial agreements: Draft, review, and negotiate complex B2B contracts with game providers, operators, and strategic partners.

  • Business partnership: Serve as a trusted legal adviser to senior management and cross-functional teams, independently managing complex legal matters from initial assessment through implementation.

  • Legal function development: Support the Head of Legal in building an efficient, strong, and proactive legal function.

  • Requirements:

    • Legal qualification: Qualified lawyer with at least 7 years of relevant professional experience, ideally including substantial in-house experience in iGaming.

    • Gaming regulation expertise: Demonstrable experience advising on gambling regulations across multiple jurisdictions.

    • Licensing experience: Practical knowledge of gaming licence applications, regulatory assessments, and market-entry requirements.

    • Corporate and commercial law: Strong background in corporate and commercial matters, including complex international B2B agreements.

    • Regulatory relationships: Experience working with gaming regulators and external legal advisers.

    • International exposure: Ability to navigate cross-border legal matters and coordinate advice across different jurisdictions.

    • Autonomy and judgement: Comfortable working independently, managing competing priorities, and delivering sound, commercially practical legal recommendations.

    • Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.

    • Language skills: Professional fluency in English, both written and spoken.

    • Nice to have:

      • Previous experience within a B2B iGaming supplier, casino game aggregator, or gaming technology provider.

      • Familiarity with Malta, the UK, Spain, Brazil, and other regulated gaming markets.

      • Experience with international corporate structures and cross-border transactions.

      • Background working in fast-growing international technology businesses.

      • Benefits:

        • Fully remote working arrangement.

        • Opportunity to work on international legal and regulatory matters across multiple jurisdictions.

        • Broad exposure to senior management, strategic business initiatives, and complex corporate and commercial projects.

        • Significant ownership and autonomy within a growing legal function.
