Join Centric Consulting – A Culture You’ll Love

At Centric Consulting, we've cultivated a unique approach to business. Our business is built on three fundamental principles: Enjoy the people you work with, have fun, and do great work. These principles define our consulting model and have crafted one of the most vibrant cultures in the consulting industry – celebrating individuals, collaboration, and lifelong friendships.

The Senior Project Manager sits within Centric Consulting’s Business Transformation Office (BTO) and is responsible for planning, leading, and coordinating strategic internal projects and transformation initiatives from concept through implementation and adoption. Serving as the connection between business strategy and execution, the Senior Project Manager partners with executive sponsors, business owners, subject matter experts, technology teams, organizational change management professionals, and other stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into actionable plans, establish appropriate governance, manage risks and dependencies, resolve obstacles, maintain accountability, and provide clear visibility to leadership to achieve intended business outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Delivery

  • Lead multiple concurrent internal projects and strategic initiatives, balancing competing priorities, timelines, and resource needs while guiding each from initiation through implementation, transition, and closure.
  • Partner with project sponsors and business owners to define objectives, expected outcomes, scope, deliverables, success measures, assumptions, and constraints.
  • Develop and maintain integrated project plans that identify activities, milestones, dependencies, owners, resource needs, and target dates.
  • Select and adapt agile, waterfall, iterative, or hybrid delivery practices based on the needs of the initiative.
  • Establish project charters, decision-making processes, roles and responsibilities, communication plans, and other artifacts and processes as needed.
  • Facilitate kickoffs, working sessions, status meetings, decision meetings, and leadership reviews
  • Monitor progress and adjust the approach as priorities, dependencies, capacity, or business conditions change.
  • Proactively identify and manage risks, issues, assumptions, decisions, dependencies, and constraints. Communicate emerging concerns early.
  • Monitor scope and manage change so project teams remain focused on the highest-value outcomes.
  • Confirm deliverables, acceptance criteria, business-readiness activities, and project closure requirements are complete.
  • Apply consistent project-management practices while scaling the level of rigor to the size, risk, and complexity of each initiative.

Leadership, Collaboration, Governance, and Risk Management

  • Establish practical governance that supports timely decisions, clear accountability, and appropriate leadership oversight.
  • Build productive working relationships with executive sponsors, business owners, subject matter experts, technology resources, organizational change management professionals, and other stakeholders.
  • Influence across organizational boundaries without relying on direct reporting authority.
  • Set clear expectations and follow through with owners to ensure commitments are met.

Portfolio Alignment and Prioritization

  • Support project intake, evaluation, and prioritization decisions.
  • Facilitate portfolio and project reviews to provide leadership with clear visibility into the health of the BTO portfolio
  • Support annual and quarterly planning processes by coordinating schedules, deliverables, stakeholder activities, communications, and follow-through.
  • Support other BTO initiatives and organizational priorities as needed.

Strategic and Business-Oriented

  • Connects day-to-day project activity to strategic objectives, business value, and measurable outcomes.
  • Understands the broader organizational context and identifies impacts beyond the immediate project.
  • Uses sound judgment to distinguish critical work from activity that adds limited value.

Accountable and Results-Focused

  • Proven track record in taking ownership of the overall delivery process and following issues through resolution.
  • Skilled in setting clear expectations and respectfully holding team members and stakeholders accountable for commitments.
  • Ability to focus the project team on decisions, outcomes, and next actions.

Influential and Collaborative

  • Ability to build trust across functions, levels, and areas of expertise.
  • Ability to lead through influence, credibility, preparation, and relationships rather than positional authority.
  • Skilled in facilitating constructive discussion and creating space for differing viewpoints.
  • Understanding of when to facilitate consensus and when to escalate a decision.
  • Ability to balance implementation success (e.g., process and technology outcomes) with the behaviors that engage people in achieving that success.
  • Ability to communicate complex issues concisely to executive audiences, framing decisions with options, trade-offs, a recommendation, and a clear decision request.
  • Skilled in active listening, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills to reconcile competing priorities.
  • Ability to respectfully challenge assumptions and surface difficult messages early while maintaining productive relationships.

Who You Are:

  • 8+ years of project management experience on process improvement, technology implementation, or organizational change initiatives.
  • Experience leading cross-functional internal transformation initiatives from problem definition and business-case development through implementation, adoption, operational handoff, and post-launch benefits review.
  • Experience coordinating shared resources whose project commitments compete with ongoing business responsibilities.
  • Experience in a consulting or professional-services environment is preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and managing integrated project plans, milestones, dependencies, resource commitments, risks, issues, and decisions.
  • Experience working with executive sponsors and senior leaders and preparing materials for leadership or governance reviews.
  • Experience leading through influence in a matrixed environment where project resources do not report directly to you.
  • Experience diagnosing and recovering initiatives with unclear scope, stalled decisions, weak sponsorship, or unrealistic resource assumptions.
  • Experience establishing proportionate governance and creating reusable templates, lessons learned, and delivery practices that improve subsequent initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of agile, waterfall, iterative, and hybrid delivery approaches, with the judgment to tailor methods to the initiative.
  • Experience integrating organizational change management, communications, training, adoption, and business-readiness activities into project delivery.
  • Uses sound judgment to distinguish critical work from activity that adds limited value.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise system implementation, data migration, integration dependencies, testing, release readiness, and operational support transition, with the ability to engage technology specialists and incorporate security, privacy, and control requirements into delivery plans.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 collaboration and project-management tools, including Teams, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, and Planner.
