Description

Do you enjoy planning and structuring complex, fast-moving projects and seeing them through to a successful launch? Are you the person that clients trust and teams rely on when things get difficult?

We’re looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our UK New Build team. You’ll manage some of the largest and most exciting Shopify Plus migrations and digital transformation programmes in the UK and abroad for high profile brands. You’ll own the client relationship, keep an eye on the wider project portfolio and help the people around you do their best work.

About Swanky

Swanky is a Shopify Platinum Partner and one of the largest, most experienced independent Shopify teams in the world. We work with ambitious brands across the UK, Europe, the US and APAC. We’re known for retail, subscription, internationalisation and bespoke builds that break new ground with what Shopify can do.

What you’ll do

  • Lead several large Shopify Plus builds at once, from discovery handover to launch
  • Run delivery in agile sprints, including planning, playbacks and progress reviews
  • Be the client’s main point of contact; build trust, manage expectations and hold the line on scope and process
  • Visit your client from time to time in-person at major milestones in the project
  • Own scope, budget, timeline and risk, and raise issues early
  • Work with sales, solution design and resourcing so new projects start with proper lead time and the right team
  • Look across the whole portfolio and spot resourcing clashes, shared dependencies and risks before they arrive
  • Keep one source of truth for every project so nobody misses a decision because they weren’t in the right meeting or channel
  • Run retros and turn what you learn into better ways of working
  • Coach and support the PMs and project teams around you

What you’ll bring

  • 4+ years managing ecommerce projects, including large Shopify Plus migrations or replatforms
  • Strong knowledge of Shopify and its ecosystem, and enough technical understanding of front end, middleware and back end to hold credible conversations with developers and clients
  • A track record of managing scope, budget and client expectations on complex, multi-team projects

How you work

  • Kind and warm; people enjoy working with you, especially when things are under pressure
  • Emotionally intelligent; you read clients and teams well and adjust how you work with them
  • Clear communicator; in writing and in person, whether you’re talking to a CEO or a developer
  • Owner; your projects are yours and you don’t wait to be asked
  • Proactive; you see what’s coming and act before it becomes a problem
  • Diligent; you care about detail and you follow through
  • Hard-working and sustainable; you put in the effort when it counts, and you know that a steady pace is what delivers great projects
  • Ambitious; you want to lead, and you’re already helping others get better

Nice to have

  • Agile or Prince2 certification
  • Experience with other ecommerce platforms
  • Experience mentoring or line managing other PMs

What you’ll get

  • £45k to £55k, depending on experience
  • 30 days holiday including bank holidays, plus one extra day for each full year of service (up to 5)
  • Flexible working hours
  • Fully remote in the UK, or our Exeter office
  • A development plan agreed with your line manager, with regular 1:1s
  • 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme
  • MacBook Pro or your choice of kit
  • Occasional travel to client meetings and conferences
  • Regular team socials
