Senior Quality Service Engineer
Description
-
Own the technical quality program for Field Service Reports: content standards, technical review and release authority, and escalation of deficiencies and safety findings.
-
Build and maintain OEM platform maintenance standards by make and model: lifecycle component intervals (power modules, capacitors, fans, batteries), PM scope requirements, firmware and known-issue checklists, and end-of-life guidance. Example: power module replacement at 10 years on the Eaton 9170 family; capacitor and fan intervals on the 93PM; equivalent standards for Vertiv, Schneider, ABB, Mitsubishi, and Toshiba platforms.
-
Build those standards into EOLA's service procedures, checklists, and report templates so a PM on a given platform is scoped, performed, and reported the same way at every site.
-
Turn field findings into customer recommendations and quote opportunities, handed to Inside Sales with the technical case attached.
-
Provide second-line technical support to Field Service Engineers and Operations during business hours; after-hours escalation backup only.
-
Review after-hours support call records and turn recurring issues into training, procedures, and MOPs.
-
Lead process improvement where service, operations, and sales hand work to each other.
-
Deliver at least one technical training per quarter to the field team and support FSE candidate technical interviews.
-
20+ years hands-on experience on 3-phase UPS systems, batteries, PDUs, and STSs across multiple OEMs, from legacy platforms (Powerware 9170, 9315, 9390, Liebert Series 600, Galaxy PW) to current (93PM, Galaxy VX, Liebert EXL S1, ABB TLE).
-
Knows the lifecycle of those platforms: what fails, when, and what the PM should catch before it does.
-
Has written and reviewed field service reports for years and knows what a weak one costs a customer and a company.
-
Can diagnose a fault over the phone from a technician's description and readings.
-
Strong written communication. The standards and reports you release carry our name.
-
Comfortable working in a cloud-based field service platform and CRM.
