Description
- Build recommendation models for video recommendations
- Duties include building APIs to serving recommendations model online; researching and leveraging LLM on recommendations; and researching and leveraging computer vision models for image classification and video understanding
- Experiment and implement semi-automatic annotation techniques which involve minimal human supervision, for Natural Language Understanding (NLU) models, to help speed up the annotation process without sacrificing quality
- Re-train existing ML and DL models, and evaluate performance on the semi-automatically annotated data
- Provide current data annotation processes and propose ideas to improve the pipeline for NLU capabilities of the Roku Voice system
- Collaborate with the engineering and product teams to launch research ideas into a Roku product release
- Document work via internal wikis, design documents, record demos and slide presentations

- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or related field
- 2 years experience in position, as a Data Scientist, Research Engineer, Technical Lead, or related occupation
- Different types of machine learning (supervised, unsupervised, reinforcement, deep learning, computer vision, natural language processing such as LLM) and common algorithms
- Linear algebra, calculus, probability, and statistics
- Must have at least 1 year of prior work experience in each of the following:
- Software engineering such as version control, testing and documentation
- Programming languages like Python and Object Oriented Programming (OOP)
