Standard Job Description

Performs in a collaborative environment to develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling. Drives adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement. Creates and analyzes 3D based model data environment to optimize manufacturing process and digital work instructions. Leverages understanding of materials and automatic processes to define operations procedures and build sequences to drive operational excellence. Evaluates performance (including IoT devices, etc.) of equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure operational excellence. Leverages factory data to develop statistical process control approaches and integrates reporting and data analytics solutions for continuous improvement. Provides input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Accountable for setting strategic direction, making key decisions, allocating resources, fostering collaboration, and driving the achievement of organizational objectives
• Root Cause Corrective action support and strategy alignment across Palmdale Legacy Programs: F22, F35, U2
• Managing Core Manufacturing Engineering Team supporting Captial Planning & Execution across the entire Palmdale site
• Daily customer interaction to drive down contraints and follow up with timely resolutions
• Focus Leader Engagement Management (FLEMOS) execution

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree

Previous Lead / Leadership Experience

Strong Project Management Skills & Experience

Strong Facilitation Skills, Ability to brief high level customers on technical issues

Desired Skills

STEM degree

8+ years of experience in Aerospace Manufacturing / Fabrication / Operations

Project Management Certs (PMP / Agile), Ability to organize team activities and drive priorities to timely closure. Understand IMS scheduling logic

Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) Training and demostrated skills utiziling PCAMS / ICA

Experience with CNC milling, NC programming and machining operations equipment

Strong business accumen experience (CAM certified/experience, Managing staffing and budgets)

Six Sigma methodolgy experience and facilitation (Green Belt or higher)

Experience with the Aeronautics Line of Business, Aero Codes and procedures
