Description

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Account Director, New Business to drive significant revenue growth through the acquisition of new strategic national-account customers across the UK market.

This is a senior, new-business-focused sales role suited to a highly driven commercial professional with a proven track record of opening doors, building pipeline from scratch, engaging senior decision-makers, and converting complex enterprise opportunities into long-term revenue.

The successful candidate will target and win strategic relationships across key sectors including insurance, finance houses, leasing companies, rental companies, large dealer groups, fleet management companies, and emerging mobility providers.

You will promote a full portfolio of connected services, including stolen vehicle tracking, eCall, bCall, remote services, telematics, and data-led solutions that support safety, compliance, operational efficiency, risk reduction, claims reduction, and customer value.

This role is ideal for a confident, commercially astute sales hunter who thrives in complex, multi-stakeholder environments and can translate technology-led propositions into measurable business outcomes for enterprise customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic national-account sales activity for the Connected Services business across the UK, with a strong focus on new customer acquisition and revenue growth.

  • Proactively identify, target, prospect, and win new strategic customers across insurance, finance, leasing, rental, dealer groups, fleet management, and mobility sectors.

  • Develop and execute account, sector, and territory sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue, growth, and new-business targets.

  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities through outbound prospecting, sector networking, market mapping, referrals, industry events, and senior-level engagement.

  • Own the full sales cycle from prospect identification and discovery through to solution positioning, commercial negotiation, procurement engagement, contract progression, and close.

  • Drive revenue growth through new logo acquisition, strategic account wins, upselling, cross-selling, renewal expansion, and long-term account development.

  • Build, manage, and convert a robust sales pipeline with clear visibility of deal stage, value, probability, close date, risks, and next steps.

  • Develop senior-level relationships with decision-makers, influencers, procurement teams, operational stakeholders, and executive sponsors.

  • Understand customer operating models, commercial priorities, procurement processes, regulatory considerations, risk factors, and strategic objectives.

  • Lead complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles involving senior executives, procurement, legal, technical, operational, and commercial stakeholders.

  • Create compelling value propositions that demonstrate clear outcomes, including safety, compliance, claims reduction, risk reduction, fleet visibility, operational efficiency, and improved customer experience.

  • Respond to RFI, RFP, and RFQ processes in collaboration with internal teams.

  • Work closely with product, operations, implementation, marketing, legal, finance, and customer success teams to ensure customer requirements are understood and delivered.

  • Oversee the commercial aspects of business development projects, ensuring alignment with customer expectations, timelines, objectives, and agreed outcomes.

  • Prepare and present regular sales forecasts, account plans, pipeline updates, performance metrics, new-business activity reports, and market insights to senior management.

  • Maintain strong CRM discipline, ensuring all prospecting activity, pipeline development, opportunity progression, and forecast information is accurate and up to date.

  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, customer meetings, and relevant market forums to build brand presence, generate leads, and develop strategic relationships.

You are a senior strategic sales professional with a strong hunter mentality and a proven ability to win complex enterprise business. You are comfortable engaging at C-suite level, navigating procurement-led sales cycles, and building compelling commercial cases for technology-led solutions. You will bring strong sector knowledge, commercial confidence, resilience, and the ability to create opportunities where none currently exist.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets in a strategic, enterprise, national-account, or new-business sales role.

  • Clear evidence of success as a sales hunter, including generating pipeline, opening new accounts, creating opportunities, and closing high-value enterprise deals.

  • Demonstrable experience selling into insurance, finance houses, leasing companies, rental companies, or a strong combination of these sectors.

  • Essential experience selling telematics, stolen vehicle tracking, connected services, fleet-related solutions, SaaS, or technology-enabled services to large national accounts.

  • Proven ability to win new logo customers and develop strategic relationships from initial prospecting through to contract signature.

  • Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles involving senior decision-makers, procurement teams, legal teams, technical teams, and operational stakeholders.

  • Strong evidence of measurable sales performance, such as new logo wins, revenue growth, contract value, pipeline generation, conversion rates, renewal expansion, or successful conversion of procurement-led opportunities.

  • Experience responding to RFI, RFP, and RFQ documents and managing structured procurement-led sales processes.

  • Excellent commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and ability to build compelling value propositions for enterprise customers.

  • Strong prospecting, networking, relationship-building, and opportunity-creation skills.

  • Confidence engaging C-suite and senior executives, with the ability to influence decision-making and build credibility at senior levels.

  • Highly self-motivated, resilient, target-driven, and comfortable working in a revenue-led role.

  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment while maintaining high levels of sales activity, reporting discipline, CRM accuracy, and customer engagement.

  • Willingness and ability to travel across the UK and, where required, internationally for customer meetings, industry events, prospect meetings, and internal business meetings.

  • Preferred Experience

  • Experience working with large dealer groups, fleet management companies, or emerging mobility providers.

  • Experience using Salesforce or a comparable CRM platform to manage pipeline, forecasting, prospecting activity, account plans, and sales performance.

  • Experience working with customers that have a global presence, including multi-region stakeholders, central procurement teams, or international operating models.

  • Experience positioning fleet telematics or data-led solutions for fleet visibility, safety, compliance, utilisation, risk reduction, claims reduction, or operational efficiency.

  • Understanding of the automotive, mobility, fleet, insurance, or connected-vehicle ecosystem.

  • Existing senior-level relationships across target sectors such as insurance, leasing, finance, rental, fleet, automotive, or mobility.
