Description

What You’ll Do

Your first two systems are the core of the job: an AI creative engine and a landing page engine, both running at scale and both wired to performance data.

AI ad creative at scale

  • Build systems that take a brief and produce test-ready static and video ad variants, with no designer in the loop for each round.
  • Connect creative output to Meta and Google performance data so the system learns what wins and makes more of it.
  • Set brand guardrails, human review gates, and compliance checks for AI-generated work, including FTC and platform rules on AI in advertising.

Landing pages and conversion at scale

  • Build a weekly landing page loop: generate variants, deploy, read results, feed winners into the next round.
  • Own conversion rate optimization on petfolk.com and the booking flow, with clear hypotheses and honest readouts.
  • Trace traffic end to end, from source to landing to drop-off to booking, and turn it into a prioritized test backlog.

Measurement and data plumbing

  • Build MCP servers and integrations between Claude and our stack: Snowflake, Braze, Gladly, Meta, Google, GA4, and the site.
  • Reconcile platform-reported conversions against booked appointments in the warehouse, and build the dashboards the team runs on.
  • Help us answer the hard questions: is a channel incremental, and how do we read a geo holdout? You do not need to arrive as an attribution expert, but you need to love the math.

New growth machines

  • Run creator programs with AI agents handling sourcing, outreach, briefing, asset intake, and tracking, so one person can run what normally takes a team.
  • Invent tactics competitors do not run: an agent that manages partnerships, a pipeline that turns clinic reviews into ads, or something we have not thought of yet.
  • Over time, orchestrate multi-agent systems with handoffs and review, and write the playbook for how Petfolk does AI-powered growth.

Requirements

Must have

  • You build and ship. 2+ years writing production code in Python or TypeScript, working with APIs, and querying a data warehouse in SQL. A degree in computer science, engineering, or another quantitative field, or equivalent experience.
  • Real AI and agent depth. You have built agentic workflows that call tools, make decisions, and hand off to a human when they should. You know Claude or comparable models, structured outputs, tool use, and evals, and you version and test prompts like code. You have built or integrated MCP servers.
  • Proof you can produce at scale. You have built systems that generate content, creative, or web pages in volume, not one-off demos. We will ask to see them.
  • Engineering judgment. You think in systems, follow sound practices like code review and testing, and take security seriously when connecting tools to company data.
  • Ownership. Give you a goal and you find the path. You pull in stakeholders without being asked, push for what you believe in, and stay obsessed with the problem until it is solved.
  • Genuine obsession with AI. You follow what is shipping, try new models the week they land, and have been building with this technology long before it was on everyone's resume.

Strongly preferred

  • Workflow automation experience with tools like n8n, Make, or Zapier alongside custom code.
  • A/B testing or CRO on a real site, with statistically sound test design and readouts.
  • Paid media exposure on Meta or Google, especially creative testing.
  • Familiarity with the modern martech stack: CDPs, ESPs, server-side tracking, conversion APIs, reverse ETL.
  • AI image or video generation and editing pipelines.
  • Incrementality or MMM work (Meridian, Recast, or comparable).
  • Experience in a multi-location consumer business.

Why Petfolk

  • Build, don't maintain. This is a new function. You set the architecture, the standards, and the playbook.
  • Two leaders in your corner. A VP who owns growth targets and a CTO who sharpens your engineering, with full autonomy in between.
  • A peer cohort. You will work alongside AI Leads building in customer experience, operations, and other functions across the company.
  • A company that means it. Petfolk is investing in AI as a core way of operating, not a press release.
  • Work that matters. Better marketing means more pet parents find better care for their animals.

Work Environment

NYC HQ (4 days per week in-office).

This position requires minimal travel, up to 10%, to pet care centers to familiarize yourself with operations and ensure timelines are met.
