SUMMARY

The Structural Design Engineer II supports the design, development, and modification of aircraft structures and components for commercial and/or military aviation programs. This position is responsible for creating detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks while ensuring designs meet customer requirements, regulatory standards, manufacturability, and structural integrity. The ideal candidate has previous aviation industry experience and a strong understanding of aircraft modification projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Design aircraft structural components, assemblies, and installation packages using SolidWorks.
• Develop detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
• Support aircraft modification, repair, and retrofit programs from concept through production.
• Perform engineering analyses to ensure structural integrity, fit, function, and compliance with applicable standards.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing, Quality, Program Management, and Customer representatives to support project execution.
• Review engineering change requests and implement design revisions as required.
• Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and customer discussions.
• Resolve production and installation issues by providing timely engineering support.
• Ensure engineering documentation complies with customer specifications, FAA regulations, and company standards.
• Support prototype builds, testing activities, and first article installations when required.
• Maintain accurate engineering records, bills of material, and drawing revisions within company systems.
