SUBSTITUTE CUSTODIAN

Fair Haven Public Schools is seeking a reliable and responsible individual to serve as a Substitute Custodian on a per diem basis. The Substitute Custodian will provide coverage for custodial staff as needed and help maintain a clean, safe, and orderly school environment for students, staff, and visitors.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous custodial or maintenance experience preferred, but not required.
• Ability to perform physical duties associated with custodial work.
• Ability to work independently and follow directions.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to respond to substitute assignments as needed.
• Ability to interact professionally with students, staff, and members of the public.
• Must successfully complete all required employment and background screening requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Clean and maintain classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, common areas, and other assigned areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize surfaces.
• Empty trash and recycling.
• Clean and maintain restrooms and replenish supplies.
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of rooms and facilities for school activities and events.
• Report maintenance, safety, or facility concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
• Follow established safety procedures and use cleaning products and equipment properly.
• Perform other custodial duties as assigned by the Head Custodian or Supervisor.

POSITION DETAILS

Position: Substitute Custodian

Employment: Per Diem / As Needed subject to fingerprinting/background check

Location: Fair Haven Public Schools

Rate: $26.08 per hour

Schedule: As needed, based on district coverage needs
