Substitute Teacher (incoming 26-27 current WSD student teachers ONLY)

Job Summary

This is for CURRENT incoming student teachers only.
Other applications will not be considered for review.
Must hold a such as Prospective Teacher or 30 Day Emergency Credential

OCDE Clearing House Finger Prints (not your Clear Credential)
Current TB Test (good for four years)

1) Daily rate: $195/daily (hourly for less than full day)

Student Teachers can only sub for their Mentor Teacher during their term. Once term is completed, may continue to substitute teach for the district as a regular substitute employee.

Teaching credential (minimum 30-day substitute permit for prospective teachers )
Transcripts
Proof of current negative TB test or TB risk assessment
OCDE Clearing House Fingerprint **
Fingerprinting: All individuals seeking employment in any public school district in Orange County, including substitute teaching positions, are required to complete fingerprinting.
This includes:

Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC): Fingerprinting for the CTC is necessary for obtaining or maintaining your teaching credentials.
OCDE Clearing House: Fingerprinting for the OCDE Clearing House is a separate and mandatory requirement for local clearance to work in Orange County public schools.

*Regardless of your CTC status, all prospective substitute teachers for public schools in Orange County must still be fingerprinted for the OCDE Clearing House. This is a separate and mandatory requirement for local clearance.

Applicant must have a current teaching credential, TB test and identification to be able to work. Contact the CTC and OCDE for more information on obtaining your credential. OCDE can help expedite the process if you apply through their office. Appointments are required. Contact at 714-966-4506

If you are selected as a Substitute Teacher candidate, you will be notified via email. Your application will not be considered if the required documents are missing from your application.

NO WALK-IN SERVICE IS AVAILABLE.
