- Comfortable working with statistics, life‑data models, and interpreting reliability metrics such as MTBF and MTTR.
- Skilled at diagnosing issues through root‑cause analysis, FMEA, and fault‑tree techniques.
- Able to use reliability‑analysis software (e.g., ReliaSoft, MATLAB, Python) to predict performance and assess maintainability
Desired Skills
- Statistical analysis & probability theory (MTBF, Weibull, log‑normal)
- Failure analysis methods (RCA, FMEA/FMECA, Fault/Event Tree)
- Reliability modeling tools (ReliaSoft Weibull++, BlockSim, ALTA) and data‑analysis languages (MATLAB, Python, R)
- Design of Experiments (DOE) and accelerated life‑testing techniques
- Maintainability metrics (MTTR, MAM) and logistic support analysis (LML, LCC)
- Knowledge of relevant standards (MIL‑STD‑1629, MIL‑STD‑217F, IEC 62087, NASA‑STD‑8739.2)
- System‑level understanding (hardware schematics, BOMs, interface control documents)
