• Integration of science and engineering practices
• Developing critical thinking and problem solving skills connecting across disciplines, including civic engagement and literacy on environmental issues
• Fostering a community of scientific inquiry
• Flexibility and willingness to collaborate with grade level teachers and other STEAM exploratory teachers
• Familiarity with K-5 NJSLS in science, climate change, math, ELA, and social studies
• Understanding the developmental differences between K-2 and 3-5 learners

• Ability to differentiate instruction for struggling learners and gifted learners
